1)  Bio Data (Word Format)

The Bio data should include as many details as possible regarding you. Clearer the bio data better the chance of being a part of the residence NEXT design workshop. It should by all means include your photograph along with details regarding your education, training, address(present and permanent), details regardingworkshops or seminars attended, talents, etc (to be sent to residencenext@gmail.com)

2) Portfolio (Pdf Format)

Do send us your portfolio, to residencenext@gmail.com, in Pdf format not exceeding 3Mb. The portfolio determines your entry to this work shop so, do remember to include your best works. Also remember to include works that show your software skills.

3) Questionnaire (Word Format)

Do (copy into a word file) and answer all the questions in the following Questionnaire and send it along with the application to residencenext@gmail.com

  • What made you interested in residence NEXT design workshop?
  • How did you come to know about residence NEXTdesign workshop?
  • Have you attended any workshops before? If yes, do give details.
  • List five of your favorite architects.
  • Has any residential design inspired you so far ? If yes, do give details.
  • What is your concept of an Ideal residence?
  • Have you designed a residence other than your college assignment? If yes what was your experience?  (include a few sample works in your portfolio)
  • What do you look forward to learn form residence NEXT design workshop?
  • What software’s are you good at? (include a few sample works in your portfolio)
  • Are you familiar with the works of residence NEXTdesign workshop team leaders? If yes, name them.
  • Have you visited Thrissur before? If yes, do give details.

4) Registration Fee and Workshop Fee (DD or account transfer)

For Participants from India-

Students – Registration Fee – Rs. 500 (Five Hundred Rupees)

Students – Workshop Fee – Nil

Young Architects – Registration Fee – Rs. 500 (Five Hundred Rupees)

Young Architects – Workshop Fee – Rs. 9,500 (Nine Thousand Five Hundred Rupees) to be paid on being selected for the workshop.

For Participants from outside India-

Students – Registration Fee – Rs. 2000 (Two Thousand Indian Rupees) to be paid along with the application

Students – Workshop Fee – Nil

Young Architects – Rs. 2000 (Two Thousand Indian Rupees) to be paid allong with the application

Young Architects – Workshop Fee – Rs. 8,000 (Eight Thousand Indian Rupees) to be paid on being selected for the workshop.

The above mentioned fee are to be sent by means of a Demand Draft or Account Transfer

Who can apply?

Any architecture student or Young architect. (age 35 years or below)

I’m not an architecture student nor an architect but, I’m interested in residence NEXT design workshop would I be able participate?

No. This time (residence NEXT workshop, 2012) the workshop is only open to Architects and Architecture Students.

Is there an age limit?

Yes. 35 years or below.

Is there a fee for the workshop?

Yes.

For Participants from India-

When are these fees collected?

The registration fee is to be send to us while you apply for the workshop. And the workshop fee is to be send on being selected for the workshop.

Is the fee refundable?

The registration fee is not refundable as we would be sending all those who apply a a copy ofresidence NEXT design workshop publication and DVD of the final presentation.

What is the total intake of the workshop?

Number of Teams -7

Number of Students – 21 (3 in a team)

Number of Young Architects – 14 (2 in a team)

(subject to change)

Would every one who apply get selected for the workshop?

No, only the best out of the lot would get selected. (21 students and 14 young architects) The selection would be based on their portfolio as well as their abilities. A jury of eminent professionals would select the participants.

We don’t want to participate but can we watch the proceedings of theresidence NEXT workshop? 

No. Only participants of the workshop would be allowed access to the campus where residence NEXT design workshop would be conducted. However you can participate in the final presentation on the last date. (Travel, Food and Accommodation are to be arranged by the individual in this case)

What happens to those who don’t get selected for the residence NEXT workshop?

As you know all those who register would not be selected for the residence NEXT design workshop.However those who do not get selected for the workshop would be sent a copy of residence NEXTpublication and DVD of the final presentation.

Is this open to Students form outside India?

Yes. residence NEXT design workshop isopen to students and Young Architects from all over the world.

Who is the organiser of residence NEXT workshop?

TACT (The Architects Club, Thrissur) and IIA (Indian Institute of Architects0 Thrissur  Center is jointly organising residence NEXT design workshop.

How are the teams selected? When do I get to know my team?

The team members are randomly selected. The teams would be introduced on the day of the workshop.

What all should we bring for the workshop?

The output of the workshop is expected to be in high quality digital format. So, you’ll have bring you laptop (with necessary pre loaded soft wares) Digital Camera, Sketchbooks, Pen Pencil and other necessary items/equipments to produce desired digital output.

We would provide you with Necessary work space, Internet, Printer, Scanner, Digital Projector etc.

When is the last date to Apply for residence NEXT design workshop?

The last date for applying is extended till the 9th of August 2012
