ABOUT
THE INDIAN INSTITUTE OF ARCHITECTS
The Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) is a premier professional organization for architects in India. Established in 1917, the organization's goal is to promote the architectural profession and providing a platform for the architectural fraternity to exchange ideas, experiences, and expertise. IIA plays a significant role in shaping the architectural landscape of India by engaging its members through seminars, workshops, conferences, exhibitions and much more. Regular publications including monthly journals and magazines disseminate knowledge and showcase outstanding works of Indian architects. IIA consists of 24 chapters and 70 centres.
Our Team
IIA Thrissur stands as a dynamic and inclusive platform for architects, fostering dialogue, innovation, and professional excellence in the region. Rooted in the rich cultural fabric of Thrissur, the centre actively promotes architectural awareness through meaningful events, knowledge-sharing forums, and community engagement—celebrating both the legacy and evolving voice of architecture.
Executive Committee
The past two years have been a vibrant and inspiring journey for the Thrissur Architects centre steered with passion and purpose by the Executive Committee. The journey began with the spirited launch event Kudamatam and culminates now with Kalaasham, a celebration of creativity and camaraderie. Along the way, a series of enriching programs—Building Dialogues, Tea Talks, Building Insite, and more—have sparked conversations, deepened connections, and elevated architectural discourse within our community.
Young committee
The Young Committee under the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) Thrissur centre bridges the gap between future architecture practitioners and the professional community, fostering collaboration and innovation. This platform enables young architects to contribute to IIA activities, promoting their voices and perspectives, and shaping the future of the profession. Through this initiative, young architects can develop leadership skills, build a sense of community, and enhance their career growth, ultimately making meaningful contributions to the architectural profession.
